WE ARE LOOKING FOR AN ICE CREAM CHEF TO JOIN OUR TEAM!

At Ruby Violet we make award winning scrumptious, natural ice cream, sorbets and frozen creations from scratch, using our knowledge and expertise to make luxurious, inventive and flavourful delights across the UK. We make our ice cream in small batches in a traditional British way, using organic milk, free range eggs, fresh fruit & carefully sourced ingredients. We continuously strive to reduce our environmental footprint by using local ingredients when possible, eco friendly materials and cleaning products and 100% compostable or recyclable packaging.

We currently have a parlour in London as well as a seasonal ice cream van, we supply restaurants, delis, retail outlets as well as shipping nationwide to the comfort of our customers homes. We work closely with corporate clients and event companies to create bespoke products, some of the clients we have previously worked with are Gordon Ramsey, Ardbeg whiskey, Coco & Eve, Eurostar & Jimador.

We are looking for an Ice cream chef full of enthusiasm, initiative & creativity to join our team full time. We are a small team who work extremely hard to reach the same goal with a customer service driven environment. We are looking for a candidate with a wide range of experience so even if you don’t feel you’re ticking all the box’s please do apply anyway, we would love to hear from you.

Ideal Candidate

  • Self motivated, enthusiastic & passionate 

  • Ambitious, driven & proactive in contributing & excelling within the team.

  • Happy to roll their sleeves up, get stuck in where needed and have a ”can do” attitude

  • Detailed organisation skills with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment 

  • Exceptional ability to communicate and comprehend, active and attentive listening is imperative.

  • Profound knowledge of allergens, ingredients & food hygiene

  • Ability to work autonomously & collaboratively within the team.

  • Flexibility in working hours, you may be required to work evenings/weekends during extremely busy periods to meet the business needs.

  • Heavy lifting is required as well having a refined touch for specifics & technicalities.

  • A minimum of 5 years kitchen experience in a fast paced environment.

  • Ideally to have an ice cream/pastry background but not essential, passion & drive to create imaginative/ingenious products is paramount.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Ensure all products are prepared and made to the highest of standards at all times following Ruby Violet spec.

  • Recording all batch information, cleaning schedule and relevant due diligence.

  • Stock rotating efficiently (FIFO)

  • Monitor ingredient stock and notify management with adequate notice

  • Keeping the kitchen clean and safe throughout the day.

  • Assist in creating and developing innovative new products

  • Assist in training new team members with your knowledge and experience.

  • Keeping the production on schedule each week with flexibility to adapt to the business & customer requirements

  • Assist in evaluating practices and improving productivity.

  • Level 2 Food & hygiene certificate is required.
