13 Years of Our Parlours!

On July 18th 2012, after a year of making ice cream and selling it from a stall at the local farmer's market, our first parlour opened in Tufnell Park. 

" 13 years…

It seems like a lifetime ago! 

We opened our Tufnell Park parlour on a sunny day in the Summer of 2012, we worked through the night fixing the Ruby Violet sign in place and the name over the door was completed as people were starting to arrive for our opening party. 🍷 🥳🥂

It was so exciting, such a lot of our neighbours and Farmer’s market customers, friends and family. We’ve had such amazing support over those years. Neighbours who helped sticker tubs, make ice cream sandwiches, juicing oranges and just so much more.

Since then it’s been quite a rollercoaster, many highs and probably just as many lows. And so many of our original loyal customers still with us through thick and thin! 

There's not a day goes by when I’m at KX when someone doesn’t come in and say "we miss you in Tufnell Park".

We’ve adapted and evolved, attended festivals, tried to sell ice cream in the snow, had massive queues in the Summer and a paucity of sales in the Winter.

We’ve held workshops and ice cream parties, produced thousands of ice cream sandwiches for Gordon Ramsay, created bespoke ice creams for Ardbeg whisky and tried to enjoy the taste (still not quite there on that one.) 

Created savoury ice creams, cocktails, ice cream desserts, sundaes, cakes for christenings, birthdays, weddings, funerals and Bar Miztvah’s.

Employed some fantastic members of staff who’ve really helped us grow and thrive.

Raised some money for our bespoke Bedfordshire production unit and now we’re about to raise some more, we have some ambitious exciting plans which we’re about to embark on, enroute to World domination!
